Ideas for cancer fundraising

Cancer fundraising shouldn’t be boring so don’t let that be the case. People are more likely to donate if you are doing something that is fun and different. Here are some ideas for activities that could work for your cancer fundraiser.

This is a game that people old and young can get involved with and enjoy. Why not hold a bingo event with silly prizes that is sure to raise a giggle? All proceeds of the tickets sold will of course go to the cancer charity of your choice.

• Beard shave

So many people rock the beard look nowadays but would they be willing to bare all for charity? A beard shaving event is sure to get everyone watching and digging into their pockets to donate. This can be substituted with a head shave if participants are feeling particularly brave.

• Disco

Hold a disco party where people have to pay to get in and experience the festivities. This doesn’t have to be exclusive to children. Why not hold an adult disco party with all the classic tunes, complete with food and drink? This is sure to be a hit and it will also raise some money for charity. • Face painting

Get somebody on board who is skilled at face painting and charge people to get their face painted. This is a great way to make some money for cancer and the range of different animals/characters walking around the place is sure to be amazing.

• Jewellery selling

It’s time to unleash your creative side as you make and sell different pieces of jewellery. People love to buy homemade items because they are unique and knowing they are contributing to a cancer charity is also something that will be appealing.

• Fancy dress marathon

Marathons/races might not be for everyone so make them a little more interesting by letting the participants wear fancy dress, the crazier the better! This isn’t recommended when it’s too hot outside however. Running in a thick and heavy costume is not the best idea.

• Tug of war

Get two teams together and partake in a game of tug of war. Participants can play to join in and people can sponsor the game too. This is really fun and will help you show off just how strong you really are.

• Sky dive

If you want to raise even more cash then do something that’s a little unexpected. A sky dive is something that is so exhilarating, it’s a once in a lifetime experience and once you are free falling in the air, you are going to be so glad you did it for a good cause!
